English #15

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone. Today, I am going to post the 4th part of my essay. This is also the last part of it. Let's roll!

***
“Welcome, Melanie. I could not believe that you actually would want to meet me”

With that, he ambled towards Melanie who was still immobile. She could not believe it. The Rex who she only knew yesterday could lie to her. Rex mentioned to her that he was a high school student. But the one who stood right in front of her now is a man who has beard and looked like a married guy. Sensing the danger ahead, she tried to escape. Rex, who was planning the whole meeting session, already knew the action that Melanie would take. He grabbed Melanie’s wrist in an iron-like grip and threw her on a heap of hay. Melanie groaned in pain and rubbed her bruised wrist painstakingly. A shadow loomed over her and she scooted towards a corner. She hugged her knees and rested her chin on her kneecaps. Pearly beads of tear started to trickle down her pallid cheeks, leaving colourless trail behind. She was shaking violently. She really hoped that Bryan would come to comfort her on that time.

“My, why are you crying now? Do not you really want to meet Rex so much? I am Rex. Now that you have fallen into my trap, there is no one wants to help you anymore” Rex chortled hysterically. Melanie closed her eyes in fear as Rex’s hands started to roam around her neck. He was about to go deeper when suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder. He stopped in abrupt and turned around just to meet with the awaiting knuckles right on the bridge of his nose. Crimson blood rolled down as he howled in extreme pain. Two more punches went straight on his abdomen and one kick flew towards his head. The sound of cracking bones could be heard. Rex doubled over in agony and passed out cold on the floor.

Melanie, who was too petrified too unveil her eyes, stoned in the same condition. Out of the blue, her shoulder was shook. She opened her eyes slowly and peeked at the boy in front of her who was holding out her hand to aid her. She felt as if the world around her spun in a fast pace as she recognized the boy who had helped her. It was Bryan! She leaped into his awaiting arms and sobbed on his shirt. “It is okay now. Just relax” Bryan caressed her hair affectionately and rubbed some soothing circles on her back. He shot a death glare at Rex and swore to get rid of him from Melanie’s life.

After almost an hour, Melanie was at her treasured home again with Bryan by her side. She was still traumatized by the unexpected incident and needed Bryan to console her. She learnt that Bryan was looking for her at the morning and found no one in her room. Then, he saw a note about the meeting and as fast as a lightning, darted off towards the warehouse. Melanie was so grateful that Bryan was searching for her or else it would be the most excruciating moment in her life. Rex was actually the cyber criminal which has been searched by the police for almost a month. Since then, she then understood why Bryan did not want her to accept stranger as a friend. From that day onwards, Melanie did not log in to her Facebook account anymore. She had been actively finding friends in the reality and Bryan praised her for such an improvement. One thing which she bore in mind: do not trust strangers no matter from the web or reality.

A sudden sprinkle of water on her face pulled her back to reality. Bryan was giggling while watching my blank face. “Where have you zoned out to?” Melanie beamed in delight as she splashed him with more water. Now, Bryan and Melanie are married. They live in ecstasy without any interruption. Not from the network or the real life and of course, not from the Facebook.

“Bryan, I feel so lucky that you saved me that day. If it was not for your ‘act first before think’, I do not know where and how I would end up now” Melanie squeezed Bryan’s calloused hands with full of affection. Bryan caressed her hair and beamed. They looked at each other meaaningfully and indulged themselves in a chaste kiss.

“I will always be there for you, darling. No matter how much seas of fire or jungles of thorns I must go through”

Okay, that's it. I hope you have fun reading the essay. I'll be writing more essay like this so, do comment please. Correct me if I am wrong and praise me if I did a good job. Thank you.

English #14

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone. Today, I am going to write the 3rd part of my essay. Have fun!

***
All the way through the chatting, Melanie could not do anything except beaming and cracking some guffaws because of Rex’s diverting and hilarious jokes. Although she was a little bit panicked after she exposed all her private contacts, but she managed to calm herself down and she tried to have faith in Rex. After almost an hour spending time with Rex via Internet, Melanie yawned and peeked at the clock. Her eyeballs almost popped out when the clock struck 3 AM. She trudged towards her four-poster bed and landed her worn-out body there, thinking about her promise to Rex. She could not hide the feeling but she was bubbling with excitement.

‘Could we meet tomorrow? You seemed to interest me. How about tomorrow at Old Maryland Warehouse? I cannot wait to see you’

She let out a breath which had been restraining her since the sentence emerged during the chatting session. Guilt hammered against her chest but she neglected it. Suddenly, images of Bryan flashed in her mind. She remembered about the advices that Bryan gave her. Bryan was such an indulgent person and rarely throws tantrum. His actions that evening shocked her a little. It was obvious that Bryan was fed up with her gnarly and as stubborn as a mule behaviour and left her stunned. They never bicker before. She bit her rose bud lip as she pulled her checkered duvet over her trembling body. She was not sure why she was shivering. Was it because of the dropping temperature or was it because of the nervous of meeting Rex? She shrugged off the question. At last, fatigue engulfed her and slowly, she succumbed into a deep slumber. Her eyelids slid close and she set a sailing through the sea of dreamland.

The next morning, Melanie was greeted by the sunlight ray which snaked through the blinds in her room. She sat up on her messy bed and stretched her stiff body. Her mind stepped back to reality when she suddenly recalled having a meeting with Rex on that day. Her mood went exuberant. She got on her feet and snatched her vermilion towel and hit the shower. Several minutes later, she was fully geared up. Looking ravishing in a complete set of fresh snow jeans, sepia short-sleeved blouse and a satchel handbag, she was ready to go. She was still building castles in the air about her outfit when suddenly her mother called her from downstairs for breakfast. She mended her pinkish locks before she hastened downstairs.  She gobbled up some toasts with marmalade and downed a glass of passion fruit juice before hurrying herself to the destination.

She sauntered towards the warehouse in her platforms and a few minutes later, she was in front on it. After finding no one at the outdoor, she went gingerly inside the warehouse. It was a little bit dark but she could make out the condition of the interior side of the building with the help of the gleaming ray of sun. As she went deeper, suddenly she heard footsteps. Her heart suddenly thumped hardly against her ribcage and a sheen of sweat glistened on her forehead. She turned around and saw a middle-age guy in the center of the warehouse. He was crossing his arms and he had the most mischievous grin Melanie ever seen.

Okay, cliffhanger! Hahaha, do not worry. I am going to post the next part quickly. Stay tuned.

English #13

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone. Today, I am going to continue with the second part of the essay.

***
 “Come in!”

The door creaked open revealing a teenage boy with a set of messy blond hair. He walked in and settled beside Melanie.

“What do you want? Take my computer this time?” she asked sarcastically as she looked at the boy with her dazzling aquamarine blue eyes.

Her orbs were fascinating. Her rose bud lips curled into a pout as the question escaped from her mouth. The boy, Bryan sighed as he took a glance at Melanie’s Facebook account. He hummed.

“Another three new friends? Or should I say, strangers?” Bryan held his breath and gazed at Melanie. His eyebrows knitted together. He has been a friend to Melanie since their diaper years. He knew her too well and the same thing went to Melanie.

“What did I say last time? Do not accept new strangers anymore. You are putting yourself on stake.” Bryan started to nag like an old women, much to Melanie’s opinion.

Melanie rolled her eyes as her fingers danced on keyboard, updating a new status. She ignored Bryan and kept her eyes glued to the monitor of her computer which could be her life string. If the computer breaks down, she could not stay calm and she would go search for any cyber café or anything that could connect her to Internet. In short words, she could not live a day without Facebook. The last time she accepted new friends, or strangers according to Bryan, he took the modem off the computer and kept it by himself for almost a week. He was so anxious about Melanie because nowadays, there have been an abundant of cases of smuggling, raping and snatch thefts starting from social networks. He did not want Melanie to be the next victim of those hazardous things.

Bryan huffed as Melanie continued to act as if he was not existed. “Okay. It is up to you. If anything happened, do not blame me.” Bryan stomped towards the mahogany door and later, a loud bang was heard. Melanie exhaled exasperatedly and stepped at the white-brimmed window and drew the Venetian blinds. She could see Bryan opening the door of his metallic red Lincoln. He gazed up towards the window of Melanie’s bedroom and their eyes met. Bryan’s hoping and stern eyes fought with Melanie’s hatred and fiery eyes. After tensing seconds, Bryan broke off the contact and started up the engine. Wasting no precious time, he drove off in high speed, tearing through the way.

Melanie made her way towards her computer and continued her time exploring the Facebook. As she was commenting on a status, a pop-out window jolted her. Melanie blinked in surprise.

It was a chatting window. A friend whom she had approved earlier greeted her with a single ‘Hi’. She replied to it by a simple ‘Hello’. They started to introduce themselves. Slowly, their chatting crept deeper into some private information. Without Melanie’s conscious, she had given the stranger whom she only knew by the name of Rex, her phone number and email.

Okay, that's all for now. Stay tuned for the other parts of the essay!

English #12

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone. Today, I am going to post my essay. But, since the essay is too long, so I am going to split it into parts, okay? The essay is entitled 'The Perks of Having Facebook'. So, let's get on the first part!

***

THE PERKS OF HAVING FACEBOOK

Mellow strains of classical music and captivating rhapsody drifted through the crowd. The sunlight sneaked its way through the leaves of the trees thus giving not too much light to the scenery. The zephyr blew softly through the surrounding shrubs below the gigantic oak trees, making them rustled. Balloons and twisted coils of streamers fluttered around the railings and banisters in a harmonious mix of fuchsia pink, royal purple and gossamer white. The exquisite red and green striped patio near a picturesque pond filled with an abundant amount of resplendent carps was occupied by some family members.

The mesmerizing festive smell of magnolias, gardenias and lilies from the appealing garden lingered in the atmosphere and captured the hearts and the noses of all the guests. The family members and guests took their seats in either side of the walk which led to an iridescent and magical white-washed gazebo. Some of the parents were busy fussing over their children, fixing their bow ties and gowns. Out of the blue, the music stopped abruptly and was replaced by the opening of bridal chorus. All heads snapped towards the far end of the walk. Smiles and grins were traced on each of the guests’ faces. There she was.

Melanie Rushford. Her wavy strawberry blond hair was tied in a French bun. She wore a strapless tulle ivory wedding dress with some light flaxen embroidery on her bodice. Rhinestones and rubies were sewn perfectly on some parts of her dress. She also wore a translucent veil. She held tightly to a bouquet of beautiful pastel-coloured roses. Beam never leave her winsome face as she reached the other end of the walk. At the gazebo stood the awaiting man who looked stunning in his impeccable charcoal black tuxedo. His close-cropped blond hair was shining brightly as it caught the morning sunlight, Midas style.  She flashed the man, who was her husband-to-be, Bryan Adams, her hypnotizing smile as remembrances about their relationship started to play like an old recording tape in her mind.

“Accept, accept, accept”

Melanie was full of satisfactory as she clicked the same button thrice, indicating that she had approved three new friends which she did not have any idea who they were. She swept away some fringes and tucked them behind her ear. Melanie was addicted to Facebook so much. She would spend nearly a day in front of her computer if not because of her parent’s babbling and her friends’ advices. One more thing, she loved to accept any friend request in her Facebook account without knowing their backgrounds, which was so dangerous. A row of knocking sound made Melanie turned her head towards the door and she hailed.

Okay, that's it for the first part. Stay tuned for the upcoming entries!
