All
the way through the chatting, Melanie could not do anything except beaming and
cracking some guffaws because of Rex’s diverting and hilarious jokes. Although
she was a little bit panicked after she exposed all her private contacts, but
she managed to calm herself down and she tried to have faith in Rex. After
almost an hour spending time with Rex via Internet, Melanie yawned and peeked
at the clock. Her eyeballs almost popped out when the clock struck 3 AM. She
trudged towards her four-poster bed and landed her worn-out body there,
thinking about her promise to Rex. She could not hide the feeling but she was
bubbling with excitement.
‘Could we meet
tomorrow? You seemed to interest me. How about tomorrow at Old Maryland
Warehouse? I cannot wait to see you’
She
let out a breath which had been restraining her since the sentence emerged
during the chatting session. Guilt hammered against her chest but she neglected
it. Suddenly, images of Bryan flashed in her mind. She remembered about the
advices that Bryan gave her. Bryan was such an indulgent person and rarely throws
tantrum. His actions that evening shocked her a little. It was obvious that
Bryan was fed up with her gnarly and as stubborn as a mule behaviour and left
her stunned. They never bicker before. She bit her rose bud lip as she pulled
her checkered duvet over her trembling body. She was not sure why she was
shivering. Was it because of the dropping temperature or was it because of the
nervous of meeting Rex? She shrugged off the question. At last, fatigue
engulfed her and slowly, she succumbed into a deep slumber. Her eyelids slid
close and she set a sailing through the sea of dreamland.
The
next morning, Melanie was greeted by the sunlight ray which snaked through the
blinds in her room. She sat up on her messy bed and stretched her stiff body. Her
mind stepped back to reality when she suddenly recalled having a meeting with
Rex on that day. Her mood went exuberant. She got on her feet and snatched her vermilion
towel and hit the shower. Several minutes later, she was fully geared up.
Looking ravishing in a complete set of fresh snow jeans, sepia short-sleeved
blouse and a satchel handbag, she was ready to go. She was still building
castles in the air about her outfit when suddenly her mother called her from
downstairs for breakfast. She mended her pinkish locks before she hastened
downstairs. She gobbled up some toasts
with marmalade and downed a glass of passion fruit juice before hurrying
herself to the destination.
She
sauntered towards the warehouse in her platforms and a few minutes later, she
was in front on it. After finding no one at the outdoor, she went gingerly
inside the warehouse. It was a little bit dark but she could make out the
condition of the interior side of the building with the help of the gleaming
ray of sun. As she went deeper, suddenly she heard footsteps. Her heart
suddenly thumped hardly against her ribcage and a sheen of sweat glistened on
her forehead. She turned around and saw a middle-age guy in the center of the
warehouse. He was crossing his arms and he had the most mischievous grin
Melanie ever seen.
